Baytril Anit-Infective Agent 150mg for Dogs

An antibioic commonly used to treat skin and ear infections.

Baytril contains Enrofloxacin which is an antibiotic used to treat difficult bacterial infections in dogs. It is effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Previously, Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus bacteria were very difficult to treat, but Enrofloxacin proves effective against them.

How It Works: Enrofloxacin works by preventing bacteria from being able to transcribe DNA. Enrofloxacin makes it impossible for the enzyme associated with this task to read or uncoil the DNA, therefore killing the bacteria.

Doseage and Application: Your veterinarian will determine the correct dose of Baytil for your dog. Typical recommended dose is: 5mg/kg/day (1 tablet/10kg/day).

Active Constituents: Each tablet contains 150mg of Enrofloxacin.

Safety: Do not administer this drug to pregnant dogs - enrofloxacin has detrimental effects on growing joints and bones. Do not administer this drug to dogs under one year of age - enrofloxacin has detrimental effects on growing joints and bones. Use caution when administering this drug to dogs with kidney disease, liver disease, or central nervous system disorders.
