Superior soothing, cleansing and moisturising action for normal, itchy and dry skin due to the presence of colloidal oatmeal, chitosanide and moisturising agents in free and micro-encapsulated forms. Helps in the control and relief of pruritus in dogs and cats. Ideal to recommend as a topical treatment for dogs or cats with atopy, FAD, miliary dermatitis, generalised pruritus, contact or food allergy.

Epi-soothe S Shampoo contains natural oat-grain in colloidal (microfine) form, giving an emollient effect especially suited to soothing and cleansing sensitive skin. Oatmeal has a long established reputation as a skin treatment for humans. Remarkable soothing properties were recognised as early as 2000 BC by physicians of Egypt and Arabia. Colloidal oatmeal baths have been utilised as a cleansing and soothing paediatric and geriatric treatment. Oatmeal applied to the skin is a natural cleanser, breaking up dirt particles in similar way to soap. Then after use of Epi-soothe S Shampoo, microfine oatmeal particles remain on the skin, to attract dirt particles lodged deeper in the epidermis and hair follicles. Residual oatmeal also has an osmotic action, discouraging moisture outflow from the skin, while permitting water absorption; giving a pronounced net moisturising effect. In many cases (up to 80% of tested individuals), use of oatmeal has an antipruritic action, possibly resulting from the effects already described.

Epi-soothe S has a neutral surfactant, soap-free shampoo base, pH balanced to normal canine and feline skin - as is characteristic of Allerderm products. Spherulites encapsulate the ingredients, releasing them over time.

Directions for Use Massage Epi-Soothe® S into the pet’s wet coat. Lather freely and allow the shampoo to remain on the skin ideally for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse well and repeat as needed.

Contains A creamy liquid which contains in suspension the active ingredients COLLOIDAL OATMEAL 21 mg/mL and HYDANTOIN 5 mg/mL, and in solution a NEUTRAL SURFACTANT COMPLEX, soap-free shampoo base.
