Hypokalaemia (chronic potassium depletion), a result of inadequate dietary potassium intake relative to excessive urinary potassium losses, has been shown to be significantly associated with chronic renal failure, hepatic disease, systemic infectious diseases, and neuromuscular or central nervous system disease. Hypokal tablets should only be used as advised by your veterinarian as constant monitoring of serum potassium levels is necessary. The recommended dose of Hypokal Potassium Supplement for Cats in severe cases of hypokalaemia is 2-4 tablets every 24 hours in two divided doses with food.
